Do you guys think that this movie has changed the outlook of your singing career?
Lance: It's not going to change anything because the other guys...we're all brothers and they support us and we're going to be around forever.
Joey: For me it's kind of fun because in the movie I get to sing as this grunge rocker type guy where I get to scream and yell a lot and do different kind of music in *NSYNC. I even get to sing a ballad, it's pretty cool.
What inspired you to want to make the movie On The Line?
Lance: I really wanted to make this movie for the fans because for a long time they've been asking us to make a movie and we've been trying to find the right one. We didn't want to make a movie that has bad things in it. We wanted everyone to be able to see it and we know our fans are young so it took us a long time to find something that all our friends could enjoy. This character Kevin is so me that I had to do it.
Joey: When Lance gave me the script "On The Line" and said I had to play Rod it was cool and it was me and we'd been wanting to do something together for a long time. We share a bus together on tour and we're the ones talking about movies and when this came up and he asked me to do it I just said "Cool."
Emmanuelle: I wasn't really that familiar with *NSYNC before I started this movie...so when they asked me to audition, I was honored, and blown away by the admiration and the loyalty of their fans... they were so excited I knew I wanted to do the best I could and make this the best movie I could.
Emmanuelle, how is it working with Lance and Joey?
Emmanuelle: Joey is a riot, he had us laughing all the time, Lance is a lot sneakier than you think... yeah he's the nice one, but he played jokes on people all the time... I had to watch my back.
What was your favorite scene during the making of "On The Line"?
Joey: I did this one scene where I was singing in the bar and I was doing a cover of Def Leopard's "Pour Some Sugar on Me" and so I got an idea and I got this jar of sugar and I just started pouring it all over me while I was singing and everyone thought I was nuts but it was really funny. When I got home I had sugar all over my nose and my ears and my hair because I had to do it over fifty billion times!
Lance: Yeah, he was really funny. He did it perfect the first time but we made him do it a million more times because it was so funny that we wanted to see it over and over again. My favorite scene was the kissing scene of course! We had to do that a lot of times and it was fun and Emmanuelle and I became good friends. It was kind of embarrassing but it was also fun.
Lance and Joey on an episode of the Simpsons the guys of *NSYNC guest starred and I heard you guys actually did the voices, is that true?
Lance: Yeah that was us!
Joey: Yeah, remember my favorite line? "Old school."
Emmanuelle: I loved that episode, you guys were so funny.
Lance: They gave us really cool Simpsons jackets and stuff after that.
Do you guys like eggs?
Lance: Yeah, I'm really good at cooking breakfast. I love to cook and one of my favorite things to cook is breakfast so I know how to cook them all different ways!
Joey: Yeah, I guess...doesn't everybody?!
Emmanuelle: Not really...
What is your movie rated? Is it safe to watch for kids younger than 13?
Lance: This movie is rated PG. It's safe for everyone
Joey: Yeah, you'll love it 'cuz I fart a lot. They added like a million farts!
Emmanuelle: Yeah, it's pretty disgusting, but it's really funny. There are no bad words or anything like that.
Do you sing in the shower? What is your favorite song to sing there?
Joey: Yeah, doesn't everybody? I like to sing old school stuff like Frankie Lyman and the Teenagers... anything doowap.
Lance: Yeah, I like to sing. I'm the bass of the group and I usually like to sing country music in the shower. I like Garth Brooks a lot.
Emmanuelle: I don't really sing.
How long does it take to do one scene?
Joey: Oh my gosh.. sometimes it takes 100 years because they have to use so many camera angles to get one shot so you could be shooting one scene all day long!
Lance: Yeah, it just depends on the director. How many different shots he has lined up for the day. You can do things quick like in one take but if he needs to take it from all different sides, it just depends on how he storyboards things.
Emmanuelle: Yeah, it depends, if people keep messing up their lines, like when Lance and I did the presidents, it was really hard and it took a bunch of times to get it out all at the same time.
What cartoons do you all like?
Lance: Spongebob.
Emmanuelle: Definitely Spongebob.
Joey: Spongebob's cool but I'm all about Superman and Marvel comics.
Does it feel weird when people scream and shout when you come in the room?
Emmanuelle: I can answer this one, because I am not used to it, it is very weird, but I had to get used to it hanging out with these guys.
Joey: It's cool if we're at a concert or something but it's kind of weird if you're at dinner with your family or whatever.
Lance: Yeah, it's weird. I guess you kind of get used to it but most of our fans are really nice and so they just want to get like an autograph or a picture or something.
Are all of you planning on making more movies after this one?
Lance: Definitely. I also hope to produce more with my company. Not only do I want to be in them, I want to produce them with my company "Happy Place."
Joey: Of course. I've always wanted to be an actor and I'm not stopping now.
Emmanuelle: I'm very excited about my next project.
We know that you guys are excited about the new movie, so I want to know how long it took to film On The Line?
Lance: We moved to Canada and shot the first part of the movie in Toronto. We started shooting on March 10th. Then in the middle of April we moved to Chicago and we finished shooting April 22nd.
Joey: My stuff they did is just a couple of weeks. I was kind of flying back and forth because we were trying to record the album at the same time.
Emmanuelle: You guys would not believe it, it was crazy, you wouldn't believe it, they were shooting a movie, recording a movie, and learning new dance routines all at the same time.
Why is the movie called On The Line?
Lance: The movie is called "On The Line" because the story takes place on the L train in Chicago so it's kind of a play on words with the L train and for Kevin, he put himself on the line to get the girl of his dreams.
Joey: Yeah, like Rod, he put himself on the line to get his song made.
Emmanuelle: Yeah, and Abbey put herself on the line because she broke up with boyfriend and found someone new.
Was it hard to memorize your lines?
Lance: Yeah, the President part was hard and they kept changing the script everyday so I didn't even know my lines until that morning when I'd get on the set. They'd bring me to the sides that day and I'd have to go over them in the trailer.
Joey: Yeah, I would fly in that morning and find out what I was going to say and I made up a lot of my own lines and the writers were cool with that so it turned out pretty funny.
Emmanuelle: I've been doing this for a while so I'm kind of used to it, I practice all the time.
When is the movie going to be in theaters?
Lance: Our movie's coming out October 26th.
Joey: Yeah, it's a Friday night so you better go out and see it!
Emmanuelle: I really think you guys will like it, it is a very sweet story.
Lance: Thanks you guys for checking out Nick.com and our chat and I hope you love the movie "On The Line."
Joey: Yeah, thanks! It was fun!
Emmanuelle: Bye everybody, I had the best time! It was AMAZING!
Lance: She always says that!
